021_01: How do I test using a VxWorks "loadable module"?
Question:
How do I use a WindRiver VxWorks "loadable module" where the application is loaded from the OS shell for unit testing with CoverageMaster winAMS?
Answer:
Since CoverageMaster uses only the instruction processing part of the MPU to test functions it cannot perform tests that operate the OS, thus testing "loadable modules" is not supported. In order to test such software with CoverageMaster winAMS, it is necessary to generate a module including the function to be tested as a "bootable module" (a module where the function and OS part are on ROM). Any valid address can be allocated to the module.
