309_01: What is the difference between the include path of the "Preprocessor Settings" and adding a header file to the project?

Question:

There is an include path setting in the "Preprocessor Settings", and a "Header File" folder in the CaseViewer "File" tab. What is the difference?

Answer:

In order to generate reference lists and variable lists, analysis must be performed in advanced mode. The advanced mode requires that the include paths to the header files be set in the "Preprocessor Settings" so that the information can be read from the header files. If you only wish to generate flowcharts and module specifications, advanced mode analysis and entering the include paths to the header files is unnecessary.

You only need to add a header file to the project’s file list if you want to generate documents for an item that is defined in a header file. It is unnecessary to register header files that do not need to be output to documents (such as system include files).
