Supporting the Operational Adoption of Model/Code Back-to-Back Testing Required by the Automotive Functional Safety Standard ISO 26262

  • Target Industry : Automotive / Heavy Machinery / Industrial Equipment
  • Target Department : Control Software Development
  • Standards : IEC 61508 / ISO 26262
  • Implemented Model-Based Development (MBD) and set up an auto-code environment, but Back-to-Back testing requires significant man-hours

Defining processes for test case creation and consistency verification, and creating work instructions for operational adoption

To perform consistency verification, it is necessary to use various MBD tools to create model testing data and test data that satisfies code coverage, and then execute both the model and code. To achieve this, GAIO's specialist staff will be stationed on-site at your company to build a test workflow for conducting consistency verification using GAIO's test tools as well as third-party MBD tools. At that time, we will also create any complementary programs (tools) required to realize the test workflow. Furthermore, we will prepare work instructions to ensure its operational adoption.

Background Behind the Need for Back-to-Back Testing

  • Model/Code Back-to-Back Testing Required by the Automotive Functional Safety Standard ISO 26262

Under the automotive functional safety standard ISO 26262, when developing automotive control software using Model-Based Development, it is required to verify that the behavior of the MATLAB/Simulink model defining the control specifications matches that of the code embedded in the product during the unit testing phase (Part 6-9) and integration testing phase (Part 6-10).
